On September 23rd we celebrate the feast of "Padre Pio" a very popular Capuchin saint who died in 1968. Known for his healing gift, stigmata, and other mystical phenomena Padre Pio labored endlessly for the good of souls and the advancement of the kingdom of God. He suffered greatly and was mocked by forces both within and outside of the Church. He was often investigated by the Church but beloved by hundreds of thousands whose lives he touched. He was a loyal son of the Church even when treated badly and many of his miracles were witnessed by others. Padre Pio was very devoted to the Holy Eucharist and the Blessed Virgin Mary. He modeled this love in his celebration of the sacraments and his great devotion to the Rosary. Let's try this week to imitate Padre Pio's great love for Jesus and Mary and ask for his help in strengthening our life of prayer and devotion. God bless, Mr. Boss :)
